Weekly Update 3/9/18
Dear eDCSD Families,
This Sunday at midnight, students must have all regular coursework from the quarter turned in. Next week, Monday, March 12 - Thursday, March 15, is finals week. All finals are due by Thursday, March 15th at midnight. Friday, March 16th is a teacher work day and there is no school that day followed by spring break March 19 - 23. Don’t forget that we also spring forward this Sunday so remember to change those clocks! Please read this week’s announcements below.
End of the Quarter Notice (All Students)
eDCSD is on a quarterly grading period system. The end of the grading period is Thursday, March 15th, for the third quarter. All regular work is due by SUNDAY, March 11 AT MIDNIGHT and the next week is final exams.
At the high school level, a passing grade (D or above) at the end of the quarter is equal to .25 credits added to their transcript. Quarter 3 and quarter 4 grades are not averaged. They are individual terms and are posted separately. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Extension Policy (All Students)
Not happy with how your grades for quarter are looking? We get many requests for extensions at the end of each grading period. Please see the Extension Policy to determine if an extension is possible. The fee for this extension is $25 per course requested. All fees must be made via Mailed check (to our office), or Revtrak (credit card online). Note that the deadline for registration and payment is Thursday, March 22nd at 3 pm. Payment MUST be received by our office and/or verified as paid online by the registration due date and time, no exceptions (this includes mailed in payments). Summer School at eDCSD (All Students)
eDCSD is now accepting registration for our Intensive Summer School Program. Please see the flier or visit our website for registration information and available courses and to register. Students attending any DCSD High School can register for classes. eDCSD offers full courses for grade replacement* and credit. The deadline for summer school registration for session 1 is May 25th. Please contact your counselor with questions regarding courses or Julie Naab with questions regarding enrollment.
Session 1: June 4-22, Semester 1 courses
Session 2: July 9-27, Semester 2 courses
* Approval for grade replacement must be secured prior to enrollment in summer school courses from the principal of the school the student attends full time.
LOST AND FOUND (All Students…. And staff!)
Missing anything? We have jackets, water bottles, glasses, ring, stapler and more gathered in our bin. Please stop by the front office to check the blue lost and found bin for missing items before Spring Break. All items remaining will be donated the week of Spring Break.

Looking for Community Service? (all students)

Important System Update (All Students)
As you are aware, we will be moving away from Moodle and Plato next year. Starting in summer school, we will be using Canvas for our new learning management system (LMS) and partnering with several content vendors to ensure we can deliver the quality education our students need with the ability to still create a personalized experience. Here is a demo of what it will look like for students and here is a link to other Canvas videos.
